Tangye
The history of Tangye involvement in all areas of engineering is on record
as stretching back at least until 1856.
It was in 1856 that the great engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel built the
massive "S.S. Great Eastern" which was until then the largest ship ever
constructed, only to experience great difficulty in launching the vessel.
It was the Tangye brothers who came to his aid and launched the vessel by
providing powerful hydraulic jacks for the task. Hence the term "Tangye
launched the Great Eastern and the Great Eastern launched Tangye".
Tangye is renowned throughout the world for engineering expertise and
quality. At the turn of the 20th Century Tangye was involved in all
continents of the world, pioneering solutions for engineering projects.
Today the Tangye name is synonymous with Quality and Engineering expertise.
